Funeral services for Robert L. Hunt, 78, of Port Byron, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Rapids City, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00PM. Mr. Hunt died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Bob was born June 18, 1935 in Perryville, MO, the son of Leander and Thelma Moore Hunt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Elizabeth Schnurbusch in 1956. He later married Donna (DeBo) Kinkead, October 26, 1979 in East Moline. Bob had worked at Alcoa, Riverdale, IA, for many years. After retiring at age 50 he pursued his lifelong dream of farming. This lead to Bob acquiring cows, goats, rabbits and barn cats. He liked playing cards, dominos, and going on the gambling boats. He enjoyed his goats and his dog, "Buddy." Survivors include his wife, Donna Hunt, Port Byron; sons, Brad (Robin) Hunt, Bettendorf, IA, and James (Joanne) Hunt Lisle, IL; stepdaughters, Debra Kinkead, Hampton, IL, and Teresa Magana, East Moline; stepsons, Mark (Michelle) Kinkead, AZ, and Danny (Julie) Kinkead, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Bill) Vyncke, East Moline; son-in-law, Mike Rederer, Maquoketa, IA.
