Robert Harold Laxy passed away Thursday December 21 2017 after a courageous battle with diabetes he died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years Susan Laxy and his beloved daughters Shelly, Christine, Theresa and Laura. Private services for the family will be held at Van Hoe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or QC Paws. Robert (Bob) was born Feb 2 1941 he was a self taught musician who played several instruments just by listening and memorizing. He loved to fly airplanes and now he has his permanent wings. He was a true animal lover and rescued several dogs from various shelters Bob lived life to the fullest a true outside the box person his spontaneity was one of his true character assets along with his witty sense of humor and keen ability to wheel and deal, he will be truly missed but never forgotten. Survivors include his wife Sue, children Shelly Laxy-DeVolder (David Ash) Colona, Christine Laxy-Powell, Cedar Rapids, Theresa Laxy (Tony Savala), Rock Island and Laura Laxy (Perry Olson), East Moline, grandchildren, Zachary DeVolder, Cody (Savannah) DeVolder, Micah Powell, Kanon Laxy-Martinez, Austin Lumsdon  (Bridget Conklin) Brittney Day, Braelyn Reising, Rachelle Hall and Hannah Jones, great grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Lakyn, Parker and Ryeland and sisters, Sharon (Harry) Williams, Atlantic Beach, FL and Deborah Ryun-Marshall, Wilmington, Mass. He was preceded in death by his father Harold and mother Helen Ryun.
