Robert J. Magana, 87, Silvis, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Robert was born on April 1, 1929 in Dixon, IL, the son of John and Petra (Alvarez) Magana. He married Mary Rosso on June 24, 1950. He retired as a boiler operator from the former Rock Island Lines. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary, children; David (Carol) Magana, Aztec, NM, Susan Rainey, Dumfries, VA and Monica (Samuel) Santiago, Colona, IL, grandchildren; Jerami, Johnnie, Nicole, Amy, Nathan and Elizabeth and his brother, Louis (Martha) Magana, Sterling, IL. He was preceded in death by his son Gerard, and siblings, John, Henry, Mary, Josephine, and Antonia.
