Robert R. Miller, 77, East Moline, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Bob was born on September 4, 1939 in Moline, the only child of Lester and Estella (Verslype) Miller. He married Lorraine Buckley on March 13, 1971 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. He retired after 30 years from John Deere Seeding. He also worked for Rock Island County. He enjoyed watching the Bears, Notre Dame and the Illini. Bob was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one at Byron Hills Golf Course. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, children; David (Kimberly) Parry, Sugar Grove, IL, Melinda (Marty) Milefchik, Moline and Melissa (John) Dawson, East Moline, and grandchildren; Jacob, Ethan, Logan, Brady, Blake and Mallory. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family.
