Graveside services for Robert J. Neighbours, 80, of East Moline, IL, will be 9:30AM Monday at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside services must be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL by 9:00AM. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. Mr. Neighbours died Friday, July 07, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Neighbours was born June 11, 1926 in Moline, IL, the son of Leonard and Esther (Mee) Neighbours. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Irene "Sue" Fischer February 1, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas. He had worked for several trucking firms throughout the years. Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Irene Neighbours of East Moline, IL; daughter (friend), Carol Nicholson (Robert Logsdon) of Bettendorf, IA; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Terry Neighbours of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Tony, Cindy, and Tracy; 6 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Roscoe and Helen Neighbours of Seminole, FL.
