Funeral services for Rev. Robert D. O'Connor, 85, of Aledo, IL, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00PM Wednesday, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Aledo, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30PM, and 3:00-7:00PM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Fr. O'Connor died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Kahl Home, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to St. Catherine Catholic Church or St. Anne Catholic Church. Father was born May 11, 1928, in Medford, MA, the son of Daniel and Ellen "Nellie" McCarthy O'Connor. He was ordained June 11, 1955 from Maryknoll Seminary, NY, and later received his masters degree in Latin Classics. He taught at the Maryknoll Seminary before serving as a Maryknoll Missionary in Peru. He later served as an assistant Pastor at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Galesburg, 1975; Holy Cross, Mendota, 1975. Co-Pastor, Holy Cross, Mendota, and Sts. Peter and Paul, Peterstown, 1978; Holy Cross, Mendota, 1980. Pastor, St Patrick, Elkhart, St. Thomas, Mt. Pulaski, and St. John, Middletown, 1981, and Chaplain, Logan Correctional Center, Lincoln, IL, 1987. Pastor, St. Anne, East Moline, 1988. Senior Priest Status and Pastor Emeritus, 2003. In residence, St. Catherine, Aledo, 2003-07. Survivors include his sister, Claire Stanley, Louisville, KY; brother, John J. O'Connor, Boston, MA; brother-in-law, John Celeste, NH; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Anna O'Connor, SSND, and Jean Celeste; brother, William F.
