Robert F. Plager, 88, of Moline, passed away Sunday April 19, 2020 at Centennial Rehab & Healthcare, Moline.

A private burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., in East Moline is in charge of arrangements.

Robert was born September 1, 1931 in Rockford. He attended local Rockford schools, and in his freshman year of college, enlisted in the US Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1954 after proudly serving our country. He married Delores Willers in 1977. She preceded him in death.

He worked and retired from Alcoa. He enjoyed golfing, traveling to play golf, and watching sports.

He is survived by 2 children: Becky Pearson of Madison, WI, and Dan Dyslin of WI; 4 step-children: Robin McCracken of IA, Becky Lopez of East Moline, Candace (Joe) Kafer of PA; and Deata (Lance) Coffin of Prophetstown; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Robert, and a sister.
