Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Rasso, 72, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-6:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30PM. Mr. Rasso died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was surrounded by his family at his time of death. Memorials may be made to the family. Bob was born September 13, 1936 in Moline the son of Jack and Esther (Almanza) Rasso. He married Jessie Garcia February 8, 1958 in Davenport, IA. He had been a Production Scheduler at the former J.I. Case, Rock Island,IL, where he retired in 1986. Bob was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs Fan. He enjoyed reading. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors include: his wife of almost 51 years, Jessie Rasso of East Moline; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Sandoval of East Moline, Marty Sandoval of East Moline, Julie and Gordon Dickerson of Silvis, Tracey and Ron Lofgren of Davenport; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert C. Rasso (Pat Lord) of East Moline, Floyd "Mick" and Lisa Rasso of Davenport, Mike Rasso of East Moline, Jack Rasso of East Moline, Chris Rasso (Stephanie Smith) of East Moline; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; "special daughter" Laurie Trudel-Beam of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beatrice and Richard Kelley of East Moline, IL, Celia "Sally" and Robert Sieve of Willard, MO, Rosemary and Tom Trudel of Sun City, FL, Virginia and Ralph Mapes of Atkinson, IL, Pat O'Conor and husband, Jim Loehrl of Moline, IL, Elly and Bill Rossi of Red Lands, CA, Linda Fonger of East Moline, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Beverly Rasso of Riverside, CA, Franklin Rasso of East Moline, Richard "Rick" Rasso of Bettendorf, IA, Gary Rasso of East Moline, IL He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Becky Rasso, grandson, Justin Nelson.
