Robert Lee Rodgers, 71, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Hope Creek, East Moline after a 16 year battle with Parkinson's Disease . At Robert's request, private services were held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Regional Parkinson's Center, Aurora Sinai Medical Center, 945 N 12th Street Suite 4602, Milwaukee, WI 53233. Robert was born on November 29, 1941 in Raleigh, IL, the son of the late James W. and Geneva E Rodgers. He married Margaret Hafford on December 20, 1961 in Eldorado, IL. He had worked at the former East Moline State Hospital for 12 ½ years before spending 5 years at John Deere Foundry and 25 years with John Deere Harvester, retiring in 2003. Among survivors is his wife of 51 years, Margaret, son Randall S. Rodgers and granddaughter Brianna. He was preceded in death by his parents and best four legged friend, Rocky. The family wishes to thank the Hope Creek Staff for the loving care shown to Robert during his stay.
