Funeral services for Robert E. Trunnell, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Trunnell died Sunday, September 03, 2006 at the Iowa Masonic Home, Bettendorf, IA. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Trunnell was born May 5, 1920 in Magnolia, MN, the son of Robert and Jessie (Keay) Trunnell Sr. He married Gertrude McNeil November 24, 1943 in East Moline, IL. He had worked as an Industrial Engineer for Deere and Company, Moline, IL, retiring in 1981 after 41 years of service. He was a talented musician and in his earlier years he played in several bands. He was a member of the former Elks Club, Moline and was a life member of the Colona Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed traveling overseas and in the USA, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Trunnell of East Moline, IL; sons and daughters in law, Bruce and Vicki Trunnell of East Moline, IL, Brian and Shelley Trunnell of Bettendorf, IA; son-in-law and spouse Bill and Carol Beckman of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren, Chad, Eldon, Eric and Blake; great-grandchildren, Garrett, David, Bradley and Sara.
