Obituary

Robert Lee Turner, 82, Moline, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. Graveside services are 2PM Tuesday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research. Anyone wishing to attend services should meet at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline at 1:30 PM. Robert was born November 5, 1928 in Sikeston, MO. He married Marcalee Liebee on January 26, 1951 in Flint, MI, and they were blessed with 4 children. Mr. Turner graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the 1950's. Bob had worked in sales for many years and was very skilled and loved to work with his hands. He served as a Ranger in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been a member of the Lion's Club and was a Mason. Survivors include his significant other; Linda Bacus, his children and spouses; Gayle Turner, Mission, TX, Jeff (Roxanne) Turner, Durant, IA, Brandt Turner, Plymouth, MN, and Lisa (Michael) Viaene, Davenport, IA, four wonderful grandchildren; Tiffany, Abbey, Angela and Derek and 2 GREAT grandchildren Mason and Jade, and a brother John Turner of Washington.
