Memorial services for Robert F. Welch Jr., 57, East Moline are 1 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded and private family inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Bob died Monday, August 27, 2007 at home. He was born October 2, 1949 in Rockford, IL, the son of Robert and Roseanne (Ambrose) Welch Sr. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He married Debra Phelps on October 26, 1973 in Moline. Bob had been working as a mechanical supervisor at Red Star Yeast in Cedar Rapids. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in a local pool league. Survivors include his wife of 33 years Debra, his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Kimberly Welch, Rock Island, grandchildren Elijah, Elisabeth, Alexandra, Macy, and Delanie, his mother Roseanne of Rockford, a sister Marianne, Rockford, and brothers Thomas, Darien, IL and John, Rockford.
