Roger Wayne Crull, 66, of Rapids City, IL, died Thursday, April 25, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, IA, following a hard- fought battle with cancer for many years.

Per Roger's wishes, no services are planned at this time. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. A family memorial celebration of his life will be at a later date.

Mr. Crull was born September 9, 1957, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Joseph Lee and Joan Margaret (McCarthy) Crull. He was raised in Rock Island, Moline and East Moline. At the time of death he resided with his son, Joe, in Rapids City, IL.

Roger worked many years as a painter and delivering bundles of newspapers in the early mornings for a local publisher. He was an avid fan of the World Wrestling franchises.

He raised two wonderful young men and taught them to be hard working and responsible men. Those men are Joseph Wayne (Abigail Swanson) Crull of Rapids City, IL, and James William (Danielle) Crull of Davenport, IA. He was a loving and generous "Papa" to his five grandchildren, Tara, Carter, Addyson, Braveyn and Chance.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Maryanne Williams, Victoria Kopel and Monica Crull; and one grandson, James Crull, Jr.
