Ronald E. Barr , 65, of Silvis, IL, passed away Sunday January 5, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services Saturday. Private interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ronald was born March 6, 1959, in Moline, Illinois, to Charles E. and Alta R. (Thacker) Barr. He received his Associate of Applied Science degree from Black Hawk College, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Technology from Teikyo Marycrest University, Davenport.

He retired as a Senior Application Specialist for KONE, Inc. after 40 years of service. During his time at KONE, he also served as an Engineering Technician, Lead Operator for their CAD system, Technical Programmer and Engineering Systems Analyst.

Ronald was an avid train enthusiast and collector.

Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Micheal and Cheryl Barr, of Davenport, IA; niece, Pam Rogers; nephews, Scott Carter, Jeff (Kara) Barr, and Nathan (Liala) Barr; and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alta; and his sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Rondal Carter.
