Funeral services for Ronald E. Beert, 69, Moline, are 1PM Friday at First Covenant Church, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 4-6 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital. Mr. Beert passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center West Campus, Rock Island. Ron was born on January 1, 1938 in Moline, the son of Albert and Bertha (Wulffaert) Beert. He married Carole A Erickson on April 15, 1966 in Moline. She passed away on August 9, 2006. He retired as an assembler from the former International Harvester Works, East Moline in 1992. Ron served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, restoring cars and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include children and spouses Rhonda and Russ Courter, Brimfield, IL and Brian and Heidi Beert of Geneseo, grandchildren; Brycie Courter, Britta Courter, Haley Beert, Gunnar Beert and Kiersta Beert, his mother Bertha Beert, East Moline and a brother James Beert of Coal Valley.
