Ronald F. Collins, 74, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services are 12 Noon on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare, Milan. Ron was born on June 20, 1941 in Moline, the son of Ellis and Bernice Shannon Collins. He married Brenda Farra in 1961 in Rock Island. He served in the Untied States Air Force from 1958 until 1961. Ron had worked at Augustana College, Rock Island, the former Montgomery Elevator and retired from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He enjoyed playing golf and had played softball and bowled in area leagues. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Notre Dame Football and the Bears. Survivors include his wife Brenda, children, Terry (Cynthia) Collins, Hendersonville, TN, Denise Anderson, East Moline and Mark Collins, Milan, eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and siblings, Leroy, Alvera, Kimmy and Alvie. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Timmy J. sister, Verna, and brother Lenny.
