Funeral services for Ronald J. McCabe, 61, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 11:00AM until service time Friday at the funeral home. Mr. McCabe died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Robert Young Center, Rock Island, IL. Ron was born March 18, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Mary M. and Donald W. (Gotto) McCabe. He married Phyllis Robinson, July 13, 1985. He served in the US Air Force as a Teletype Operator during the Vietnam War. Ron's pride and joy was his 1966 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport (390 5 Speed). He liked watching baseball and spending time with his friends. He loved his family. Survivors include: his mother, Mary McCabe of East Moline, IL; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Schubert of East Moline, IL, Linda M. McCabe of Hainesville, IL, Joyce and Barry Engelmann of Davenport, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda I. McCabe of Wheeling, IL; nieces and nephews, Laura, Bradley, Nicholas, Kristen, Martin, and Kyle; great nephew, Callen. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald McCabe and a niece, Nora Schubert.
