Ronald Deane Miller, 82, formerly of East Moline, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at his daughter Kathy's home in Charles Town, WV after an extended illness. Private committal will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. There are no public services. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg WV 25403. Deane was born January 18, 1926 in East Moline, the son of Joseph and Bessie (Emmert) Miller. He married Iris McBride on December 20, 1953 in Springfield, IL. She died in 1999. He was a budget analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1983. Mr. Miller was a WWII Army veteran. He was a charter member of the Betty Boop Fan Club, enjoyed model trains and was active researcher of genealogy. Survivors include his children and spouses: Joseph and Hope Miller, Athens, IL, Kathy Miller, Charles Town, and Lori and Les Flores, Silvis, grandchildren; Becca Ryals, Adam, Chris and Schawn Flores, Beth Stropes, Heather and Jaimie Jo Miller and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Iris, his parents and a grandson Nicholas.
