Funeral services for Ronald E. Peacock, 69, Davenport, are 10 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery, Port Byron. Visitation is 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Ron died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services, Davenport. Memorials may be made to his grand-children's education or to the Alzheimer's Association. Ron was born November 26, 1940 in Moline, the son of James John and Leona Mae (Quick) Peacock. He married Nancy Jacobsen on November 19, 1966 in St. Steven's Church, Clinton, IA. Ron had owned and operated Peacocks Saloon in the Village of East Davenport. He had worked at Erv Peters Ford in the early 1980's then at Dick Merrick Ford in Sterling, IL and retired in 2003 as sales manager from Reynold's Ford in East Moline. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his preferred driver was Dale Jerrett. He was a Green Bay Packer Fan and loved reading books. Survivors include his children and spouses Kimberly and Joe Kinzig of West Lafayette, IN, Kathy Peacock of Park View, IA and Greg and Karen Peacock of Sherrard, IL. Grandchildren Shawn, Abigail, Nicholas and Jackson, and a special caregiver and friend Sandy Jacobsen of Davenport. He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy, infant daughter Kristina, a grandson Jacob, his parents and 8 brothers and sisters.
