Funeral services for Ronald V. "Ron" Sheets, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10 am Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3 pm. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Mr. Sheets passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

Ron was born October 21, 1937, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Sidney and Catherine (Voelcker) Sheets Sr. He was a graduate of Alleman High School Class of 1955. He married Karen Davis October 17, 1964 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Ron retired as a Produce Manager from Eagles Food Stores after 42 years of service. He was a Chicago Bears fan and an Alleman Football fan. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and an active volunteer at Christ the King Catholic Church. He and Karen were members of the Winnebago Itasca Travelers, and enjoyed traveling in their motor home across the country.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Karen Sheets, East Moline; daughters, Rhonda (Dan) Zonnevylle, Illinois City, IL, and Diane (Shane) Lyon, Moline; grandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlyn Zonnevylle, and Jay and Ashley Lyon; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Sheets, Moline; nephew, Stephen (Julie) Sheets; nieces, Susie (David) Jacocks, and Chrissie (Jason) Lopez; 8 great nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, his dog, Eddie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sidney Sheets Jr.

Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL, or the Alleman Football Program.
