Ronald Verhaeghe, 66, Coal Valley, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA.

Cremation has been accorded. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family visitation will be held and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Shelter (QC Paws) 4001 78th Ave., Moline, IL 61265

Ron was born September 21, 1954 in Moline, the son of Robert and Joyce (Moore) Verhaeghe. He graduated from United Township High School, class of 1972. Ron married Cindy R. Palmer on July 27, 1976. Ron retired from John Deere Harvester Works, East moline in June of 2010 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed boating, RV camping, stock car racing and a good lottery ticket. Ron enjoyed spending time with friends and family in his beloved garage.

Survivors include his wife Cindy, and two children; Stephanie (Rich) Nunez, Shawn (Andrea) Verhaeghe; four grandchildren; Emily (Cory) Steele, Callahan McDaniel, Alesia Nunez, and Oliver Verhaeghe; two great grandchildren; Aoife and Maclan Steele; four siblings; Cathy (Ron) Pershy, Jan Versypt, Lorrie (Ron) Williams, and Rob (Denise) Verhaeghe, and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Versypt.
