Funeral services for Ronald D. Wilson, 73, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30AM Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline and from 10:00AM until service time Tuesday at the church. Mr. Wilson died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus Davenport, IA. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Catfish Jazz Society Ron was born April 12, 1935 in Mercer County, IL, the son of Fred and Inez (Stephenson) Wilson. He married Joanne Carney August 26, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. He served in the US Army where he had been stationed in Korea from 1956-1958.He had worked at Herman Nelson (American Air Filter), Farmal, and retired from Alcoa as an IPS Supervisor on September 1, 1996 after 19 years of service. He had been an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ron loved music and had been an accomplished musician. He had been a member of the Catfish Jazz Society, Bix Biderbeck Society, and musicians union AFM Local 67 for over 50 years. Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Joanne Wilson of East Moline, daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Dick Hunt of Taylor Ridge, IL, Jill Johanson East Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Jackie Wilson of Silvis, IL; grandchildren, Stephanie, Joshua, Nicholas, Jordan, Ronald Jacob, and Jonah; step grandchildren, Jill (Troy) Vollbeer and Jenny (Craig) Atzen; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Ila Wilson of Orion, IL; sister-in-law, Elsie Jane Wilson of Moline; former son-in-law, Craig Johanson.
