Rosa Black, 87, Silvis, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at home, surrounded by her family. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Rosa was born September 25, 1928 in Tergensee, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Senta (Leifhold) Gottschlicht. She taught school in Germany and had been a tutor in the Quad Cities. She married Richard Black in January of 1955. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed playing bingo and going on the riverboats. She also enjoyed crocheting, watching the ducks in her back yard and Olde Towne Bakery donuts. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Tom Black, Moline, Patty Vyncke, Silvis and Julie Avila, Davenport, six grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, with two on the way, daughter-in-law Laura Black and siblings, Adi and Heinrich, both in Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Black, son Richard O. Black and thirteen brothers and sisters.
