Funeral services for Rose Ann Barajas, 71, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 13, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM. Ms. Barajas passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 8, 2024, surrounded by her daughters.

Rose was born August 21, 1953, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Guadalupe Bautista and Aurora Pompa. She married George Barajas in 1976. She retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 2009, after 35 years of service.

Her favorite pastimes were family gatherings in her backyard on 5th Street in Silvis and VFW Post 8890 on Thursday nights. She had a love for Tejano music. She was a proud grandma that loved her grandchildren mucho mucho.

Survivors include her daughters, Angelica (Casey) Disterhoft, Geneseo, Amanda (Christian) Lopez, Rock Island, and Alyssa (Victor) Maldonado, East Moline; grandchildren, Noah, Keira, Isla, Mason, Alejandra, Christian Jr., Isaiah, Aurora, and Cruz; mother-in-law, Dolores "Lolita" Barajas, Rock Island, siblings, Martha "Marty" Bautista, East Moline, Robert Bautista, East Moline, Lawrence (Mary) Bautista, Silvis, Antonio Bautista, East Moline, and Melissa (Johnny) Baker, Rock Island; many nieces and nephews; and su amiga, Celia Medina, Silvis.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Paul, parents, and father-in-law Fidencio Juan Barajas.

Rose's family would like to thank Park Vista nurses, aides, kitchen staff and Unity Point Hospice for their compassionate care.
