Funeral services for Rose T. Olson, 84, of Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mrs. Olson died Saturday, July 01, 2006 at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Rose Prosen was born October 1, 1921 in Granville, IL, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Brula) Prosen. She married Henning O. Olson January 26, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. He died November 12, 1998. She served in the United States Women's Army Corp, being stationed in London, France, Germany, and Bavaria. She had worked many years as a switchboard supervisor for the former Lutheran Hospital, Moline, IL, retiring in May of 1978. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lady Eagle Auxiliary, Moline, IL. She enjoyed fishing in Canada, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Corey Abbinett of Vancouver, British Columbia, Norma and Gary Moore of AZ; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Barb Olson of Coal Valley, IL, David and Jackie Olson of Rock Island, IL; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Lester Granell of East Moline, IL.
