Visitation will be 9:00-10:00AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to Msgr. William J. Cleary Endowment Fund. Rose was born August 5, 1913 in Baragiano, Italy, the daughter of Rocco and Carmela (Glubbizzo) Faraone. She came to America with mother when she was 9 years old. Her name is etched on the Memorial Wall on Ellis Island there as someone who passed through. She met her husband, Joe Pastorek, at the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, IL. They were married, June 6, 1936 in Chicago. They moved to East Moline in 1937, when her husband was transferred to International Harvester. She was a member and a volunteer of St. Anne's Parish from the time she arrived in the Quad Cities. Both Rose and Joe shared a life long love of flower gardening. For over 40 years bouquets from their garden could be found on the Sunday altars at St. Anne's Church. Rose also served as a volunteer at Illini Hospital for many years. One of her proudest memories was that she and other members of her hospital group created the idea of assisted living that became Crosstown Square. Rose is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Janice Pastorek, of New York City, and Joseph and Cathy Pastorek Jr., of Silvis, and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pastorek who died in 1999 and a daughter, Rena who died in 1964. The Family would like to thank Crosstown Square Senior Residence and the Illini Restorative Care Staff. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
