Funeral services for Rose Terronez, 92, of Moline, IL, will be 9:00 am Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. The VFW Auxiliary Ladies will perform a memorial service at 4:00pm. Anyone wishing to attend the committal rite at the National Cemetery, should be Van Hoe Funeral Home by 8:30 am Monday Mrs. Terronez died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home. Rose Ponciano was born September 4, 1923, in Leon, Mexico, the daughter of Felipe and Concha Perez Ponciano. She married David R. Terronez August 26, 1950, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Mr. Terronez died December 14, 2009. In her earlier years she worked for the Rock Island Lines, the Moline Dispatch, and was a homemaker. She provided daycare for many families throughout the years, and had a great love of children. She was a charter member of the VFW 8890 Auxiliary for 62 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. Survivors include her children, Christine (Phillip) DeMink, Tipp City, OH; Gilbert (Juanita) Terronez, Moline; Celia (Rick) Riesebieter, Coal Valley, IL; Kathleen Terronez, Moline; Marguerite Terronez Rock Island; Maria Escontrias, Bettendorf, IA; Raphael Terronez, Moline; Andrew Terronez, Moline; and Benedict Terronez, Moline; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Bernal, Perris, CA; Esther Rasso, East Moline; Mary Rangel, Silvis; and Cruz Ponciano, Milan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Jennifer; sister, Pauline Mendoza; brothers, Joe and John. Memorials may be made to the family.
