Funeral services for Rose Ann Thornbloom, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:00 PM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday (today) at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Mrs. Thornbloom died Tuesday April 4, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Monsignor William Cleary Endowment Fund. Rose Ann Sipula was born February 19, 1922 in Naplate, Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Mucha) Sipula. She was employed by the Luminus Dial Company of Ottowa for 5 years. She married John W. Thornbloom December 28, 1946 in Ottowa, IL. After their marriage, they moved Rock Island, IL. She was employed at the former Container Corporation of America and the former McMillian Blodel for 36 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL, where she belonged to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Circle #532 and the Prayer Chain of St. Anne Parish, East Moline. She enjoyed watching sports on Televison, walking along the Ben Buterworth Parkway Riverfont, and in earlier times, going fishing in Minnesota, and watching her son race Go Karts in the 1960's. Survivors include: her husband, John W. Thornbloom of East Moline, IL; son, John J. Thornbloom of Greenwood Village, CO; granddaughter, Lindy Thornbloom of Portland, Oregon; grandson, John Michael Thornbloom of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Mary Rindaldi; 5 brothers, Mike, Joseph, Rudy, Andrew, and twin brother, Stephen Sipula.
