Funeral services for Rose E. VanderBeke, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mrs. VanderBeke died Monday, October 06, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, where she had been a member. Rose Rumbolt was born January 8, 1924 in Rock Island, the daughter of William and Martha Rumbolt. She married Robert "Bob" VanderBeke February 15, 1947 in Rock Island. Over the years she had worked several jobs, but her favorite had been working at Von Maur. She had been an active volunteer at St. Anne's where she had sung in the choir and helped count money. She was an avid card player. She enjoyed going to yard sales, cooking, and working on family genealogy. Survivors include: her husband of 61 years,Bob VanderBeke of East Moline; son-in-law, Randy Bandekow of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Amy (Greg) James, Mindy VanErstvelde (Jeremy Weggen), and Danny Edwards; sisters, Lucille Tarpy of Rock Island, Betty Baxter of Rock Island; brother, Arnold Rumbolt of Knoxville, TN.
