Funeral services for Rosemary L. DeGrande, 79, East Moline, are 9AM Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where the St. Mary's East Moline Altar and Rosary Society will recite a rosary at 6:30 PM. Rosemary died peacefully Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family, with the support of the Trinity Hospice Staff. Rosemary requested that in lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation or to have masses said in her name. Rosemary Floming was born November 12, 1928 in Atkinson, IL, the daughter of Fred and Nettie (Lievens) Floming. She married Donald G. DeGrande on January 4, 1947 in East Moline. He died May 3, 1999. She worked at the former Metrobank, East Moline. Mrs. DeGrande was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, and the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered in many capacities there over the years. Her crafting talents were shared with local churches, hospitals, nursing homes and a multitude of families throughout the Quad-Cities. Rosemary was a devoted wife who provided in-home dialysis for her husband for 20 years. She was also a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and loved to travel in the U.S. and abroad. Mrs. DeGrande had volunteered for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation and as a driver for the American Cancer Society. Survivors include her children and spouses Gary and Mary Boss DeGrande, White Bear Lake, MN, Kathy and Gary Andersen, East Moline and Teresa and Ed Maras, Chicago, twelve grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
