Roy H. Suess, 66, of East Moline, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Genesis West, Davenport, following an extended illness. Funeral services are at 11:00 AM Monday, July 14th at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13th, from 2-5PM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Additional visitation will be conducted one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Roy was born January 17, 1942 in Moline, Illinois, to Frank and Edna (Johannsen) Suess. He married the love of his life, Lynne Wood, on October 12, 1962 in Rock Island. Roy graduated from Rock Island High School and was a successful sales executive for American Solutions for Business, but his real passion was his family and his faith. Roy was a very active servant at his church, St. John's Lutheran, and he also held many leadership roles with the Indian Princess Father-Daughter Organization sponsored by the YMCA. Survivors include his wife Lynne, daughters: Angela Weeks of St. Louis, MO, Amy (Abel) Garcia of Rockford, and Ann (Ken) Cobb of Moline, brothers; Donald of East Moline and Kenneth (Joan) of San Diego CA; and grandsons Ben, Chase, Cruz and Noah. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald.
