Funeral services for Ruben Castillo, 62, Silvis, are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Ruben died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Ruben was born August 5, 1944 in Sinton, TX, the son of Jose and Esperanza (Galvan) Castillo. Ruben graduated from Sinton High School before moving to the Quad Cities. He married Vicky Guier, June 12, 1976 in Rock Island. He had worked as a fork lift operator at the former John Deere Plow Planter, Moline. He enjoyed going to car shows, Low Riders, fishing, bowling and was a Dallas Cowboy Fan. Survivors include his wife Vicky, children Deanthony, and Nikki, all of Rock Island, his mother Esperanza Rodriguez, Colona, sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Enrique Ramos, Colona, niece Lucinda Martinez, nephew Melvin Stanley, half sister Janie Castillo, half brother Isabel "Ike" Castillo, both of TX and a special friend Susan V. He is preceded in death by his father and sister Rosemary Rodriquez.
