Funeral services for Ruby Kasten, 95, East Moline, are 11 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Ruby died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at her home. Ruby Papenhausen was born May 26, 1911 in Moline, the daughter of Henry and Nettie (Williams) Papenhausen. She married Earl Kasten, January 25, 1930. He died in 1955. Ruby loved playing piano, crocheting and embroidery. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Donna Green, Hillsdale, IL, Shirley and Donald Hemphill, Nokomis, FL, Linda and William Turner, Newhall, IA and Sandra Kasten, Pekin, IL, twelve grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, brother Richard Papenhausen, Moline, brother-in-law Joe VanPuyvelde, East Moline, and a special friend Kenneth Reffitt, Moline. Ruby is preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Pearl and Carl Hull, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Hazel Papenhausen, sister Betty VanPuyvelde, son Gerald Kasten and son-in-law Claud Green, and a great grandson.
