Funeral services for Rupert "Rick" Cole, 83, of Fort Collins, CO, formerly of Silvis, will be 1:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Cole died Friday, November 3, 2006 at his home, surrounded by his family. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, Fort Collins Colorado. Mr. Cole was born December 26, 1922 in Columbus, IN, the son of Stacy C. and Alice B. (Graham) Cole. He married Georgia Andon in Indianapolis, Indiana.He served in the United States Navy during WWII, where he fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. In his early years, he loved fishing, hunting, and playing pool and was also a chiropractor after graduating from Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport. He later sold cars, but found a passion for real estate and for many years owned his own business Rick Cole Real Estate. Rick was a loyal member of the Elks Club. Later in his life his favorite past time was playing poker. He was a pro, and played up until his last days. He was a devoted husband and father and loved to be near his children. He will be deeply and sadly missed. Survivors include: wife of 63 years, Georgia Cole of Fort Collins; daughters and sons, Dianne and Michael Lynch of CO, Duane and Jeanne of CO, Brook Weaver of CO, Mary Cole of CO Jude and Lori Cole of CA, Christy and Michael Bertrand, of NV, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by: his parents, and infant children, Rupert Joel, Ann Alice, and John Patrick
