Russell G. Johnson, 74, of East Moline, IL, passed away Friday August 7, 2026, at his home.

In accordance with Russell’s wishes, there are no services planned. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Russell was born March 4, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to George A. and Dorothy E. (Klepatz) Johnson. He married Patricia J. Fanning on May 2, 1992. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2022.

He worked in construction and maintenance for many years.

Russell lived on Campbell’s Island for over 40 years. He loved being near the river and spending time with family and friends there. He also enjoyed woodworking and caring for his dogs.

Surviving are his stepdaughter, Lisa Nussbaum; stepson, James Davis; and his step grandchildren, Alex Nussbaum, Stefanie Nussbaum, Ben Davis, and Mallory Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents, George and Dorothy; and siblings.
