Russell Schneider, 93, Silvis, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Visitation is 3-6PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services are Wednesday at Hutten-McElwain Funeral Home, Macon, MO. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice. Burial will be Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Macon. Russell was born on April 16, 1920 in Macon, the son of Carl and Eva (Boyton) Schneider. He married Helen Bissoux on March 23, 1941 in Macon. She died August 5, 2011. Russell retired in 1980 as a foreman from the former International Harvester, East Moline. He enjoyed gardening, weaving rugs and fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Survivors include his children (spouses), Sandra "Kay" (Ed) Lampo, East Moline, Ronald (Dorothy) Schneider, Moline and Gary (Shirley) Schneider, Colona, eleven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a brother Leon Schneider, Bevier, MO. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dempsey and Carlos.
