Russell R. Stolze, 87, of East Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Russell was born October 23, 1935 in Coulterville, IL, the son of Russell and Helen Culik Stolze. He married Geraldine "Gerri" Brockmann on January 14, 1956 in Venedy, IL.

He was a press operator for many years for McLaughlin Body Company. Following McLaughlin's he worked at John Deere Parts & Distribution Center, Milan, from which he retired in 1987.

Russell was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. He enjoyed all sports, and tending to his home, yard and flower gardening. Some of his favorite times were those spent with family, friends and his beloved pets, "Lacie" and "Cory".

He is survived by his wife, Gerri, of East Moline; son, Kevin Stolze, Ft. Wayne, IN; daughters, Starla (Steve) Lawton, East Moline, and Tammy (John) Gustafson, Eldridge, IA; grandchildren, Amity (Gary) Caserta, Andrew (Cassie) Stolze, Ashley (Ben) Erwin, Meghan (Cade) Morgan, Steven (Becky) Lawton, Emily (Ian) Scott, Liz (Brian) Dennison and Abby Buchanan; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Chuck) Stevens, Huachuca City, AZ ; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Russell is preceded in death by his son, Mark Stolze; grandson, Michael Stolze, parents; grandparents; and special uncle, Stanley Stolze.
