Ruth M. Frye, 81, Colona, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 1PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 11 AM until service time. Ruth Rind was born February 11, 1932 in Rock Island, the daughter of Allen and Elizabeth (Miles) Rind. She married George Frye on August 11, 1949 in East Moline. Ruth retired in the late 1970 from the Canteen which serviced the former International Harvester Works, East Moline. She was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and in earlier years enjoyed camping with her husband. Ruth also enjoyed playing bingo and an occasional trip to the riverboats. Survivors include her children, Sharon Clapp (Bill DeCastecker) East Moline, Christopher Frye, East Moline and Cindy (Tom) Fussell, Sherrard, grandchildren Andrea (Jamie) Bolduc, Lisa (Dustin) Sides, and Taylor Frye, great grandson Brenden and sisters, Marilyn Jackson, Omaha, NE and Caroline Ryan, Norfolk, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 26, 2011.
