Ruth "Joan" Loete, (93), of East Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. There will be no services.

Joan was born February 11, 1929, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Sherman and Leona (Thoman) Haskins. She married Frank J. Loete August 9, 1947, in Moline, IL. He passed away March 22, 2011. In her earlier years she had been a Cub Scout leader. She was a member and past president of the local chapter of the King's Daughters. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She and her husband belonged to Oakwood Country Club for many years.

Survivors include her sons, Steven Loete, East Moline, Michael Loete, East Moline, Mark (Stephanie) Loete Chichester, NY, and Jay Loete, Roanoke, IL; grandchildren, Roxane Loete and Steve Loete; great grandchildren, Derrick and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Curtis Loete, and her sister, Kay McManus.
