Obituary

Funeral services for Sally A. Krol, 78, Silvis, are 10 AM Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6PM. A memorial fund has been established. Sally was born April 10, 1932 in Moline, the daughter of William and Anna (Johnson) Owens. She married Joseph Krol on June 14, 1952 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Sally had worked at Desaulnier's until the birth of her first child. She was devoted to her family and all their activities, especially Joe's hunting experiences. Sally was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a member of the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society. She was a talented seamstress, made beautiful crafts, was an excellent cook and baked the worlds best apple pies. She loved dancing to country music at the East Moline American Legion and at the Moline Vikings. She also enjoyed family vacations and when her children left the nest she and Joe, continued their travel. Survivors include her husband Joe, her children and their spouses; Michele and Gil Gibson of Fenton, IL, Jolene and Dan Kannenberg, East Moline and Kevin and Angie Krol, East Moline, grandchildren; Sarah Fritch, Joshua Gibson, Julie Utz, Jenna Kannenberg and Haley Krol, great grandchildren; Jack Fritch and Chloe Utz, and brothers; Wilbur Owens, Moline and Jerry Owens, Leesburg, FL.
