Funeral services for Salvador "Chava" "Sal" Garcia Jr., 37, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00am Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport, IA. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30. Mr. Garcia died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at University Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, IA, Sal was born January 13, 1978, in Davenport, the son of Salvador Cavada Sr. and Seve Garcia. He was a graduate of Western University. Sal was a great and loving dad who adored his children. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was the patriarch of his extended family. He would do anything for anybody, and give them the shirt off his back. He loved adventure, enjoyed riding ATVs, and taking trips with his family. Survivors include his wife, Estreya Luz; children, Hannah Hentges, Davenport, Reyna and Roman Garcia, at home; mother, Seve (Jesus) Salinas, East Moline; father, Salvador (Cruz) Cavada, Reno, NV; sisters, Lupe Cavada, Reno, and Amilia Cisneros, Moline; brothers, Jose Cavada, Reno, and Nicholas Cisneros, Moline; aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, and cousins including Mario and Johnny Garcia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Severiana Cruz, Johnny Garcia, Eloisa Herrera and Manuel Cavada; aunt Margarita Garcia. Memorials may be made to the family.
