Samantha M. Raymond Nelson, 47, Carbon Cliff, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at her home. Visitation is 4-8PM Tuesday August 5, 2014 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Samantha was born on October 14, 1966 in Davenport, IA. She graduated from UTHS class of 1985. She married Ron Raymond Jr., in 1989. She later married Todd Ripka in 1996 and Wesley Nelson in 2009. Samantha had worked in dietary at the former Illini Hospital, Silvis. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who cherished her family beyond belief. Her kids and grand babies were her whole life. Samantha was often referred to as the cupcake lady and ran Samantha's Cupcakes. It made her happy to make others happy. Survivors include her children, Nichoel Raymond, Danita Coakley, and Victoria Raymond, all of East Moline and Danielle Raymond, Silvis, her mother and stepfather, Wanda and Rick Peve, Port Byron, grand babies, Kolton, Thomas, Laylah, Eathan and Mason, and her brother Sean "Butch" Galbraith, Silvis. She was preceded in death by a grandson Cayden who she is now holding in heaven.
