Sandy was born January 8, 1945, the daughter of Homer and Winnona Roberts. She graduated from Western High School and married the love of her life, Daniel DeMay, on October 5, 1963, in Annawan.
A dedicated and loving mother, Sandy’s commitment to her children was woven throughout every stage of her life. She was a constant volunteer at her children’s school, always ready to assist in the classroom, organize events, or support teachers and staff in any way she could.
Sandy loved bowling and shared that passion generously with her community. She helped develop youth bowling programs and proudly supported young athletes through the Special Olympics, including her grandson Christopher. Family and friendships were central to her life, and she cherished the many hours spent playing cards, sharing stories, and laughing with those closest to her.
A talented crocheter and crafter, Sandy created countless handmade gifts that she shared with family, friends, and local organizations. Her creativity and generosity touched many people, leaving behind small treasures that will be cherished for years to come.
Survivors include her children Brad DeMay (East Moline), Tina DeMay (East Moline), and Sara (Bryan) Mosley (Broomfield, CO); grandchildren Christopher, Nathan, and Aubrey; sister Jolene Rokey (Princeton); and brothers Larry Roberts, Jerre Roberts, and Ernie Roberts (Buda).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel DeMay; her parents; infant daughter Lisa; and sister Cynthia DeFreezer.
