Sandra K. Horton, 65, of Carbon Cliff, IL, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her home in Carbon Cliff.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 29th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services Thursday. Private interment will be at Dayton Corners Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.

Sandra was born February 12, 1960, in Moline, Illinois, to Billy and JoAnn (Ponce) Sherrod.

She graduated from United Township High School. Sandra married Carl L. Horton in June of 1992 in East Moline, IL.

She worked in Social Services for Illini Restorative Care for many years. Sandra will be fondly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all.

Sandra enjoyed caring for her home and family, flower gardening, watching Hallmark movies, and her beloved pet dog “Cotton”.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Carl, of Carbon Cliff, children, Yvonne Lane (Ben), Carbon Cliff, Whitney (Jordan) Murray, Colona, and Scott (Alissa) Horton, Port Byron; grandchildren, Brennen, Izack, Addalynn, Laura, Alivia, Landin, Jordan II, Sawyer, Jorgia and Rilley; great-grandson, Everett; sister and brother-in-law, Terri (Mark) Henry, Erie; sister-in-law, Lisa (Jim) Sherrod-Coleman, Rock Island; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and JoAnn; and her brother, Dennis Sherrod.
