Sandra Jean "Sandi" Sharer, 72, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Trinity Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Graveside services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Essley-Noble Museum & Mercer County Historical Society. Sandi was born December 16, 1940 in Aledo, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Charlotte Johnson Sharer.She was a graduate of UTHS Class of 1959. Sandi never married and always said that "she was an unclaimed jewel." She had worked for John Deere, retiring from John Deere Health Care after 35 years of service. She had volunteered on her 45th and 50th Class Reunion Committee and had volunteered for Pathway Hospice in the early 1980's. She also volunteered for the Essley-Noble Museum & Mercer County Historical Society, where she sat on the board of directors for 4 years. She taught knitting and cross stitch. Survivors include her sister, Diana (Glenn) Camp, Antioch, IL; nephews, Jon Camp and Marc (Rebecca) Camp; great nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Christian, and E.J. The family would like to thanks Sandi's friend, Leona, who helped her so much during her sickness. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Franklin Sharer.
