Funeral services for Scott E. Madsen, 50, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Thursday at the funeral home, where a time of sharing will start at 7:30PM. Mr. Madsen died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at University Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, IA, after a lengthy illness. Scott was born May 20, 1963 in Davenport, IA, the son of James and Ruth Jones Madsen. He was a graduate of Davenport West High School. He served in the U.S. Army, where he had been stationed in Germany. He married Linda Dobbelare November 3, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. He worked at Alcoa, Riverdale, IA, for the past 9 years. Scott was a prayerful man who served Christ in many ways. He had been very involved with the Greater Rock Vineyard Church, Davenport, and Northwest Cursillo, Moline. Survivors include his wife, Linda Madsen, Moline; stepdaughter, Anna Dobbelare, Moline; mother, Ruth Madsen, Davenport; sister, Kathleen Madsen, Davenport; brother, Edward "Jim" Madsen, Davenport; and their dog, "Carmel Delight."
