Funeral services for Severiana V. Beserra, 83, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:00PM. Mrs. Beserra died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Vera Valdez was born February 21, 1929 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, the daughter of Juan and Julia Mandujuano Valdez. She arrived in East Moline in 1959 and married Frank Beserra on November 26, 1960 in East Moline. He died August 27, 1980. She and her husband owned and operated The Latin Village Restaurant, East Moline for over 50 years, until their death. Survivors include her daughter, Connie (Mauricio) Escarria, East Moline; grandson, Mauricio Michael Escarria; sisters, Maria Guerrero, San Antonio, TX, Porfiria Valdez and Ursula Valdez, Nuevo Laredo, and Socorro "Coco" Tristan, East Moline; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 infant siblings, 3 adult sisters, and 3 adult brothers.
