Funeral services for Sharon K. Bowen, 62, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday (today) at the funeral home. Sharon died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Parkview Health Care Center East Moline. Memorials may be made to All Animal Aid Humane Society Inc. Milan, IL, or to the American Cancer Society. Sharon Quick was born August 26, 1944 in Viola, IL, the daughter of Ralph J. and Treva A. (Lash) Quick. She married Ward "Elmer" Bowen October 20, 1961 in Monmouth, IL. He died in 1988. She had worked as a waitress at Denny's, Moline, and then she worked for the last 13 years at Quad Cities USA Family Restaurant, Moline. She considered the staff and customers at the restaurant her family. Sharon could be described as "an Alice type of waitress at a Mel's Diner". She will be missed by all. Survivors include: her son, Kenneth "Kenny" Bowen of Cedar Rapids, IA; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Quick of Davenport, IA, Ruth Quick of Davenport; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Theresa Bivens of East Moline; and the entire Quad Cities USA Family Restaurant family.
