Funeral services for Sharon Moon, 53, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at Riverside Methodist Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-7:00PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home ltd., East Moline. Sharon died Friday March 12, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, IA. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Sharon Buckley was born March 13, 1956 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Callistus and Queen King Buckley. She was a graduate of United Township High School Class of 1974. She attended and received her Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Western Illinois University. She had worked for the Orion School District, Hampton School District, and the Rock Island School District. She was a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist with a unique gift for helping children with special needs. Her work included over a decade of service at Special Kids In Preschool (S.K.I.P.), where she helped hundreds of children. She received many special honors in recognition of her important work and had been active in her professional associations. She was a strong and courageous person who loved to laugh and loved to hear children's laughter. She enjoyed being with her daughter and family. Survivors include her daughter, Kara Moon of Moline, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Miller of East Moline, Marcia and James Garrison of Hampton, Carol and Thomas Bailey of Moline; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lynda Buckley of Moline; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
