Shelley R. Rockwell, 68, of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home in Moline.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2024 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial, with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Trinity Health Foundation for the Ohl Strong Fund.

Shelley was born April 4, 1955 in Blue Island, Illinois, a son of Richard and Joanne Gower Rockwell. He married Sherri A. Phillips on February 12, 1977 in East Moline, IL.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Shelley worked for John Deere Harvester Works for 31 years. He was a member of the U.A.W.

He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and doing projects around his home. Some of his favorite times were those spent with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are his wife, Sherri, of Moline; children, April (Andrew) Peterson, Moline, Jason Rockwell, Davenport, IA, and Jessica Rockwell, Moline; grandchildren, Logan Peterson, Colin Peterson, Austin Rockwell, Zariah Rockwell, Justice Rockwell, Asia Rockwell and Mia Bovan; great grandchildren, Jaylin and Jaydin; sister, Cynthia (David) Gibbs, Texas; brother, Shawn Rockwell, Rock Island, IL; brother-in-law, J. Richard Burns, East Moline; sister-in-law, Mary Rockwell, Davenport; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Shelley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Todd Rockwell and Billy Rockwell; sisters, Vickie Burns and Bridget Rockwell; nephews, Shawn Rockwell, Jr. and Christopher Rockwell; and nieces, Angela Burns and Kelly Burns.
